Sadly I lived

Sadly I lived
Spooky swamp I came across

Hello. How are you feeling? It has been pretty wet and dreary here the past couple days. I do not care for it.

Thank you to all the new paid subscribers who signed up recently after I cried on the timeline. I appreciate you all very much.

We're gonna take it nice and easy today. Have a little fun. Just see what happens.

The worst men alive all absolutely love AI and hate trans people. Gotta be some kind of lesson for us to learn there.

I already forget what shit-headed AI thing I saw that prompted me to write this one the other day but I'm sure it was really stupid and insulting to those of us in possession of a human soul.

A city that exists

There is no such thing as art without a human on one end of the line and a human on the other end. In communication with each other. Like a closed electric circuit (?) I could explain that better but I spent my life appreciating art. There are pieces of writing that stand on their own without any supplementary information but there's a reason that when we read a classic poem or short story we usually soon after want to know when and where and under which conditions it was written. Same with music. You can hear a song you like and appreciate it knowing little but the first question people often ask when you play them something by a new band is where are they from? It’s funny that you should ask because they are from a city that exists. Art is a conversation where the particulars of the world are made universal and the universal is made particular. Think about how powerful an engine of imagination it is for a young person hearing a band and learning that they are from some far off place – Tokyo or New York or even somewhere gross like the UK. It is a time portal. It is magic. It even works if the artist dead. So too with a painting. The little information plaque in the museum is an extraordinarily powerful tool. What if it said no one painted this nowhere? Well then you’d be looking at nothing. And now what would you be?

As you may know I've been doing a lot of walking in the woods of late. It being the only remaining form of exercise available to me on account of my sundry injuries and agonies.

Follow me on Instagram if you want to see my Woods Posting straight from the tap.

One of my favorite things to come across is when a big tree has snapped and collapsed into the embrace of another nearby tree and just stays there leaning on it forever. Or until the second tree also breaks. Maybe it nestles into a third. And eventually they all fall and litter the earth with something for the next generation of trees to grow on top of.

I don't know man you gotta think weird shit when you're walking in the woods to pass the time.

Here's a really cool dead tree I saw a couple days ago.
